DESIGN & INTEGRATION OF EQUIPMENT
Offshore Projects Consultants provides practical engineering support for the installation and integration of equipment on new and existing vessels and offshore structures.
From initial survey and concept development through to class approval and fabrication drawings, we consider every aspect of the installation including structural loads, equipment interfaces, vessel stability, access, operation, maintenance and installation requirements.

Our Capabilities
We support the integration of equipment including:
- Winches and handling systems
- Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS)
- Hydraulic power units and pumping systems
- Scrubbers and associated machinery
- Survey and subsea equipment
- Cranes, lifting appliances and deck machinery
- Cable handling and storage equipment
- Temporary and permanent offshore equipment
- Bespoke machinery and support structures
Our work can cover a single equipment foundation or a complete multi-discipline installation package.
Integrated Engineering from Survey to Installation
Every project begins with an assessment of the equipment, vessel and operational requirements. Where drawings or reliable vessel information are limited, OPC can undertake an onboard survey and use LIDAR scanning to capture the existing arrangement accurately.
The resulting information can be used to develop detailed 3D models, identify potential clashes and evaluate installation options before fabrication begins. This reduces uncertainty and helps avoid costly modifications during mobilisation or installation.
Our engineering scope may include:
- Equipment arrangement and general layout development
- Review of equipment loads and interface requirements
- Structural assessment and foundation design
- Finite element analysis and supporting calculations
- Deck strength and load spreading assessments
- Vessel stability assessment
- Access, maintenance and removal studies
- Integration of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical services
- Lifting and installation planning
- Production of class approval and fabrication drawings

Designed for Fabrication and Operation
A successful installation must do more than satisfy calculation requirements. It must also be practical to fabricate, install, operate and maintain.
OPC’s approach is informed by hands-on offshore and site experience. We work closely with vessel operators, equipment suppliers, fabricators and installation teams to develop solutions suited to the vessel, available facilities and project schedule.
Particular attention is given to buildability, installation sequencing, inspection access, equipment maintenance and the constraints of working within an existing vessel arrangement.
Deliverables
Depending on the project, OPC can provide:
- Design reports and engineering calculations
- Equipment layouts and interface drawings
- Foundation and support structure designs
- 3D models
- Fabrication and installation drawings
- Material specifications and bills of materials
- Weight control information
- Stability assessments
- Lifting and installation procedures
- Class submission documentation
Designs are developed in accordance with applicable class rules, recognised industry standards, equipment manufacturer requirements and project specifications.
Supporting Your Project
Whether integrating a single item of deck equipment or delivering a complete vessel modification package, OPC provides clear, practical engineering focused on safe installation and reliable operation.
